Product Description
sedu SU-100A Ionic Ceramic Pro Flat Iron featuring Tourmaline technology generates more negative ions than just ceramic irons only. Negative ions eliminate frizz and renew hair with shine and softness. Adjustable heat temperature from 235° F - 410°F. Ultra-lightweight design made with composite materials used in aerospace.this is the best! Leaves hair super shinny and smooth fast. It's light weight and glides on your hair silk. I flat iron about 3-4 times a week. I had it for about 5yrs before it stopped working (just doesn't turn on anymore). I bought a new one "her styler colour seasons" at the mall for about the same price and doesn't compare. Im ordering SEDU again!
I love this flat iron! I received the Sedu last week. I washed & dryed my hair as normal using a high price point shampoo/conditioner(Ojon), then I blew dry my hair using Fredrick Fekkai glossing creme. I then fired up the iron which heated up quickly. The first run through my hair I was Wowed & Awed. I am African-American with spiral curly hair. I don't have chemicals in my hair & I live in Hot & Humid Houston. A curly head girls nightmare.
The end result was I finished my hair in record time for me. I only had to run through my entire head of hair twice. My hair was shiny & light. Lots of good body. The frizz was noticebly less. I have had my hair straightened for about a week now. I only pressed it that one day & have been able to maintain by platting my hair into 2 ponytails.
I absolutely love this product & think It was the best investment. The price was well worth it. Now I have the flexibility to wear my hair naturally curly or SEDU straight.
Sedu straighteners are AMAZING. I work in a salon and they sell some high-end ceramic hair straighters for over $120 each. However, the Sedu straighters are WAY more easier on your hair. They glide over the hair like silk, and I don't find that the expensive other-brand ceramic straighters feel silky when I glide them over my hair. Sedu corporate office is here in the US in New Jersey. The ceramic or whatever its called... when it heats and up and you glide it down your hair, it is super smooth and there is no tugging on your hair. LOVE IT. I wish they would make curling irons but I don't think they do.
I bought this iron maybe a year ago at an Ulta store and I have to say, I was impressed. I wanted a flat iron that would actually straighten my hair. I am Black and my hair (not that thick, shoulder length) gets out of control when it's time for a perm. I use this flat iron to postpone getting a relaxer and after i have gotten a relaxer to make the ends straight. I had heard questionable things about it, but my personal experience has been:
*I have been through many flat irons and this one seems to get the job done right. Straightens and shines (I use the John Freida thermal protectant)
*The only problem I have is that if its too hot or I am moving too slowly, the iron will sometimes singe the ends of my hair (not good!!)
*No electrical problems. To this day, it is still working properly and it has been dropped many times.
*Easy cleaning. Just remove the plates and wipe clean. No gross gunky stuff
*Gives my hair BODY. Something I did not experience with other irons.
Good luck and I hope you have as much success as I have with this product!
When it works, this does work well but they die out pretty soon. I have bought two of these flat irons and both of them died out within a year. Same problem with the cord that other users have been reporting. For something that costs $115, you think we would get a much more sturdier product. Yes and it does get very hot on the outside. So be sure to stay away from the area where the plates are.
it's very good.
my hair stays strait longer than CHI.
it heats up fast and dosent damage my hair as much.
thx sooo much!
I would say that this iron does wonders for your hair. I purchased the iron 3 years ago and had no problems until recently. I admit that I dropped it maybe twice. In terms of durability, I would not trust it. I had the electrical power problem. While using the iron at different angles to curl my hair, power would continuously turn off on it's own making a lot popping noise. I can't use the product anymore and now have to order a new one.
this is the best flat iron my family and I have ever used, and we have tried three other brands, plus our salon we go to uses it, they just happended to be out of them at the time I ordered. it doesn't need to be very hot either. I like the fact that it has an adjustable heat setting. our hair stays for about 4 days without having to redo or touchup, as long as we put it up in a bun at night.
the shipping was fast also!
my only complaint is it was supposed to come with a mounting device for free, and I called the company twice and never received it.
other than that don't get any other flatiron. my sister-in-law even changed to the sedu and she has about four others. she likes how it leaves hair shining and silky also.
I use this iron in my salon and have added a link for my clients. The best irons are not cheap, but well worth the price. Anyone that has struggled with a mediocre iron and then traded up to a Pro iron will rave about the incredible difference. Why? Well for one ceramic and tourmaline are the crucial for keeping the hair in good condition. Add ion technology to create unparalleled shine. Read more Sedu reviews at savinggracesalon.com
I purchased the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Flat Iron from Folica less than a year ago. It worked well although, candidly, I'm not entirely sure it worked $100 better than the 2" Conair straightening iron I bought from Target while still a starving college student. Still, it heated quickly, straightened well, and my hair did seem silkier when I was done . . . so, for the first six months, my overall impression was that the iron did its job, and did it well.
Until it quit working. There is a lever on the inside that allows the twin irons to clamp together and mine apparently broke because the irons wouldn't clamp. I called Folica and was told to send back the iron with a $12 check for their shipping fees and they would repair/replace it.
So, eight months after buying the iron, the cost had just increased $25 (my shipping to Folica, their shipping back) and I'd been without the iron for two months while I shipped it to Folica, waited for them to "repair" or "replace" it, and then ship it back.
But the story does not end there. No. Imagine my surprise when, after getting the "replaced" iron from Folica, I plugged it in and IT DIDN'T WORK. Not even once. That's right, Folica shipped what was likely a refurbished iron without disclosing it and, worse, without even quality testing it to ensure the new iron worked.
Wash, rinse, repeat. I called Folica, was put on hold for ten minutes, and, unbelievably, the chipper young woman on the phone told me to send back the faulty iron, at my expense, with another check for $12. This time I objected, was transferred to a supervisor, was told to call another number Monday. Guess what happened on Monday? The other department was unable to assist.
I'm back to using my Conair. I don't think I've given up on Sedu entirely, but I certainly will never buy another product from Folica.
