It's Ionic! It has tourmaline! (whatever that is supposed to do). It is light enough so my shoulder does not hurt. And the price was right. A bit more than a drugstore model but it really seems more heavy duty. And it's "pretty in pink". I was looking for a replacement for an old VS Ionic dryer. This fits the bill and more.

I don't usually write reviews, but I have searched for a long time for a good hair dryer. I have spent up to $150 on a blow dryer (a T3 that that broke after three months) that did not work as well as this one. The handle is comfortable, the settings vary enough to be meaningful and button placement is good (I don't accidently turn the blow dryer off mid dry. It feels light, but I am not sure that I have ever had a heavy dryer. On high the air blows hard and because the opening is small it is always somewhat concentrated. I have long thick, mostly straight hair that can take 10 minutes to dry, this cuts my time.

My only complaint is that I wish the cord were longer and thicker, but all things considering I would buy it again.


My sister-in-law is a hair stylist and she bought me one of these a few years ago. I use it daily and it works just as well today as it did the day I got it. It takes less time to dry my thick locks than any other hair dryer I have used. Hot tools makes great products and I have been happy with every one of them that I have tried.

this is a great blow dryer. i ordered it to fit a special diffuser
and i thnk it's one of the best! i love that it came with a travel case.


This is a great hair dryer and I would recommend this product to anyone. It is lightweight and really blows the air. There are three heat settings which is great and the cold shot botton works fantastic. The ability to turn the Ion on and off is an added bonus although I don't know why someone would want to. I have cut my hair time in the morning down to almost minutes compared to 30 to 40 minutes with a cheap dryer. This dryer handles well, dryes quick and gives great volume. Let me tell you to get volume on my fine hair and a smooth shiny hair salon look was worth every penny I paid for the dryer. I was told this dryer compared to Hot Shot... no way. I tried Hot Shot and took it back. This dryer is 100% better! Spend the extra money you won't be disappointed.


This is a great little hairdryer -- very lightweight but with all the features people want. It's not nearly as noisy as my previous dryers, and the heat settings are a very nice feature -- there are three settings instead of the usual two, so you can get cool air instead of only hot or really hot. You almost don't need the cool shot button. You can turn the ion setting on or off, which is another nice feature (not that I really know the difference between ionic and not). The lightness is what I like best -- I have very thick long hair and after a while of drying time, most dryers make my arm ache. It doesn't hurt that it's fairly spiffy looking, either. I can't imagine that anyone really needs silver for antibacterial qualities, but if it matters to you, this dryer has it.

I am black American and my hair type is slightly coarse/kinky; the type of hair that needs a permanent relaxer to achieve a sleek look. I have been going to the hair salon for the past nine years to get my hair flat ironed on a biweekly basis. It wasn't until I purchased this flat iron that I was able to get almost the same results at home. It does a great job, without pulling or creasing the hair, like other flat irons. The moisture on the plates makes my hair feel so smooth. I don't feel like I am damaging my hair when I use it, however I think I might be wearing it out!! If that happens, then I will definitely just buy another one, if not, buy one now as back up. A+ product (The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars -- It would be supreme if it had an automatic off function)


Great flat iron. It gets my hair completely straight and gives it beautiful shine. I have naturally straight hair, so I don't think that it would well for someone that had extremely curly hair.


HI potential customers if you buy this flat iron you wont have any regrets it does not burn, synge, dry out and damage hair at all as a matter of fact I found this tourmaline iron to do just quite the opposite.It makes hair re-conditioned, moisturizes and makes my hair shine and much more supples. I have relaxed black hair and found it to give my hair that professional salon look especially after I washed my hair at home without stepping into a salon. I love hot tools products and this is surely a best buy.


the Flat Iron heats up fast. I like the case it come with that allows me to pack it while it is hot. there is no space between the plates when you close them(even coverage of the hair).


This product is totally worth the money. My hair has not been damaged nearly as much as it was with other cheaper straighteners. Has a nice temperature setting so you can adjust depending on your hair thickness, etc. and heats up very fast. Great buy
